This privacy policy summarizes how Ranmoor Capital Management (UK) Limited (“Ranmoor”) collects, stores, processes and discloses your personal information, including:

  • Personal data you supply to the website/firm in circumstances where you apply for a job at the firm either directly or via a third party recruiter.

  • Information you supply Ranmoor's Investor Relations team as a prospective investor.

Your privacy is important, the firm is committed to protecting and safeguarding your data privacy rights. The EU General Data Protection Regulation (Regulation (EU) 2016/679) (together with applicable implementing laws, “GDPR”) is applicable to the processing of personal data by Ranmoor and various undertakings appointed by it.

We may amend this Privacy Policy from time to time. Please visit this page if you want to stay up to date, as Ranmoor will publish any changes here. If you are dissatisfied with any aspect of Ranmoor’s Privacy Policy, you may have legal rights and, where relevant, we have described these below. 


Collecting Your Personal Information

Ranmoor may collect personal data through a range of means, if you opt-in by providing it to us knowingly or otherwise in accordance with this policy, including, but not limited to:

Candidate data: In order to assess you for employment opportunities, Ranmoor asks for details such as your name, age, gender, contact details, education details, employment history, emergency contacts, immigration status, financial information (where we need to carry out financial background checks) number as well as verbal and written references. Where appropriate and in accordance with local laws and requirements, we may also collect information related to your health and any criminal convictions. 

When contacting Ranmoor Capital via Human Resources ("hr@ranmoorcapital.com") you request for Ranmoor and/or it's affiliates to contact you regarding your volunteered information or a potential interview.

Prospective investor data: In order to provide you with information about Ranmoor and its funds and associated investment opportunities it may be necessary for Ranmoor to process certain personal information such as names, telephone numbers and email addresses and any personal identification documents you supply including financial information to assess client classification or in order to confirm your identity. We also collect information we receive from you in subscription documents or other related documents or forms, or through our site; and/or Information about your transactions with us, our funds, affiliates or others. 

When contacting Ranmoor Capital you hereby declare you are a Professional Investor, Professional Client or Eligible Counterparty and request for Ranmoor Capital Management LLP and/or it's affiliates Ranmoor Capital Management (UK) Limited to provide you with information about the private investment funds managed by it ("The Funds"). You understand that, as a result of this request, you will be contacted by Ranmoor Capital and provided with certain information concerning "The Funds", including and without limitation, access to Ranmoor Capital's website and inclusion on our E-mail distribution list.  

We may also obtain information about you from a third party in the case of prospective investors or third party recruitment firms in the case of prospective employees including, but not limited to:

  • Professional introductions;

  • Non-executive Director networks;

  • Other publicly available sources such as a websites (for example, LinkedIn) or publicly available registries (for example, FCA or other investment registers);

  • Financial Advisers, Brokers and Banks;

  • Consumer reporting agency;

  • Ranmoor Capital related entities;

  • The responsible entity or administrator of a managed investment scheme for which we provide services (Fund);

  • Regulatory or government authorities, industry bodies or professional associations;

  • Personal referees in the case of prospective candidates who may share personal information about you with Ranmoor.

We collect your personal information to allow us to conduct our business functions, to market and sell our products and services, improve our website and ensure compliance with regulatory statutes.


Marketing

You consent to our using your personal information for marketing purposes, including sending you information about our funds and our business partners products, services, events, as well as responding to requests for information, whether by means of direct mail, telemarketing or email. In connection with that use, we may use software and systems that allow us to view and analyze whether email addresses are active, individual responses to correspondence, viewing of messages, and other data points and analytic information. You should also be aware that the level of protection in relation to the storage, processing and use of personal information may not be the same in countries outside your own.

We may keep a record of visits to our site using “cookies,” which are small text files that are stored on your computer that retain your information and preferences relative to your activities on a website. How does Ranmoor use your personal data?

Candidate data: Your personal details are used by Ranmoor to help us (a) assess your suitability for roles that you have applied for either directly or via a recruiter (b) carry out background checks, verification and referencing on you as a candidate (c) to carry out Ranmoor’s obligations relating to any potential contracts entered into between Ranmoor and you; and (d) to comply with legal or regulatory obligations applicable to Ranmoor.

Ranmoor believes it is reasonable to expect that if you are looking for employment or have posted your professional CV information on a job board, professional networking site, with a recruiter or via direct email to Ranmoor you are happy for Ranmoor to collect and otherwise use your personal data to offer or provide job opportunities to you and share that information where necessary with necessary third parties.

Prospective investor data: Information about prospective investors is used by Ranmoor (a) for the purposes of discussing and reviewing potential investments in Ranmoor funds (b) assessing an investor’s appropriateness to invest in the fund as an unregulated collective investment scheme (c) to carry out Ranmoor’s obligations relating to contracts to be entered into between Ranmoor funds and you; (d) for the general administration of potential investments into the Ranmoor funds; and (e) to comply with legal or regulatory obligations applicable to Ranmoor.

In order to ensure Ranmoor provides you with an efficient investor relations service and access to information about Ranmoor and its funds, Ranmoor will store your personal data and/or the personal data of individual contacts at your organisation as well as keeping records of conversations, meetings and investor preferences. If you are an active professional investor and agree to supply Ranmoor with contact details Ranmoor you consent for Ranmoor to collect and otherwise use your personal data to offer or provide investment opportunities to you and share that information where necessary with third parties.

We will not use personal information provided by you to us in a manner inconsistent with applicable United Kingdom laws or guidelines.


Disclosing Your Personal Information

Candidate data: Your personal data will be shared internally with any of Ranmoor’s group companies for the purposes of candidate selection and appointment. Your personal data will also be shared with inter alia third party suppliers who provide screening and testing services to the firm as well as legal, tax and HR advisers and third party recruiters. If references are sought Ranmoor will also share your personal data with previous employers and referees.

Prospective investor data: Ranmoor will share personal data on prospective investors only when required to do so to:

  • Our fund boards;

  • Administrators to our funds;

  • Legal, tax and accounting advisers;

  • Regulatory or government authorities;

  • Your authorized representatives on your account, employees, representatives, agents or contractors;

  • Third party financial intermediaries in certain instances (AML, Certified Identification).

Personal data will only be disclosed by Ranmoor to the above in circumstances where that third party has agreed to respect the security of personal data and treat it in accordance with applicable law. Third parties to whom any personal data may be disclosed will not be permitted to use personal data for their own purposes and they will only be permitted to process personal data for specified purposes and otherwise than in accordance with the instructions of Ranmoor.

We will not sell, rent or lease your personal information to any other party.
 

Transfer of Personal Data outside the European Economic Area

Ranmoor does not currently transfer and/or process your personal data outside the European Economic Area (the “EEA”). The activities of Ranmoor and its control or processing of personal data are such that it may be necessary for personal data to be processed outside the EEA in the future.

If in future Ranmoor transfers personal data outside the EEA, it will seek to ensure a similar degree of protection is afforded by ensuring that personal data is transferred only to persons in countries outside the EEA in one of the following circumstances.

  • To persons and undertakings in countries that have been deemed to provide an adequate level of protection for personal data by the European Commission.

  • To persons and undertakings to whom the transfer of such personal data is made pursuant toa contract that is compliant with the model contracts for the transfer of personal data to thirdcountries from time to time approved by the European Commission.

  • To persons and undertakings based in the United States if they are part of the Privacy Shield which requires them to provide similar protection to personal data shared between Europe and the United States.

How does Ranmoor safeguard data?

We take precautions to maintain the privacy of your personal information and other information and or data collected by us. These precautions include the adoption of certain physical, technical and/or administrative procedures designed to reduce the risk of loss, misuse unauthorized access, disclosure and alteration. These security measures include procedures to deal with any suspected personal data breach. No security is perfect, we do not guarantee in any way that a security breach will not occur, whether the data is being transmitted or stored, nor that your personal information or any other information or data is fully protected from unauthorised disclosure or use. Ranmoor will notify any affected person and any applicable regulator of any personal data breach in circumstances where they are required to do so by applicable law.
 

Time period of data retention?

Candidate data: If your candidature does not proceed to employment with, or hiring by, Ranmoor it will retain your personal details for a period of six months after the position you may be suitable for is filled. After that point Ranmoor’s policy is to delete your personal data from its systems unless Ranmoor believes in good faith that the law or other regulation requires Ranmoor to preserve it (for example, because of our obligations to tax authorities or in connection with any anticipated litigation) or if Ranmoor considers that you may be suitable for an alternative role for which it is hiring.

Prospective investor data: In order to comply with legal and regulatory obligations regarding the proper classification and identification of potential investors in funds which are unregulated collective investment schemes your personal details will be retained by Ranmoor for a period of six years after the last contact with you. After that point Ranmoor will delete your personal data from its systems unless Ranmoor believes in good faith that the law or other regulation requires Ranmoor to preserve it (for example, because of Ranmoor’s obligations to tax authorities or in connection with any anticipated litigation). In some circumstances, Ranmoor may decide to retain anonymized personal data for research or statistical purposes, in which case such information may be retained and utilised indefinitely without further notice.
 

How can you access, amend or delete the personal data that you have shared with Ranmoor?

You have various rights in relation to your personal data. To get in touch about these, please email hr@ranmoorcapital.com. Ranmoor will seek to deal with your request without undue delay, and in any event in accordance with the requirements of any applicable laws.

Please note that Ranmoor will keep a record of your communications to help it resolve any issues which you raise. You have the right to request access to any personal data concerning you that Ranmoor is processing. Whilst Ranmoor takes efforts to ensure that all personal data that it processes is accurate and up-to-date, you may ask Ranmoor to rectify any inaccurate personal data concerning you and Ranmoor will do so without undue delay. 

You may, in certain circumstances, request that Ranmoor erase your personal data. You may also restrict, or object to, Ranmoor’s processing of your personal data if certain criteria apply. You have the right in certain circumstances to data portability. This means that, in those circumstances, you have the right to receive from Ranmoor any personal data concerning you in a structured, commonly used and machine-readable format, and may request that Ranmoor transmit it directly to another data controller, where technically feasible.
